This will be seriously cool when it becomes real-time. Laan Labs has created a demo that displays 3D imaging recorded using a Kinect in augmented reality on an iPad. And of course they go right to the “you’re my only hope” Star Wars reference. Just imagine the live video chat functionality once it can process and display live data, not recorded data.
